Why do you travel?

That’s the question VisitBritain are asking in their new 2018 “I Travel For…” advertising campaign.

An estimated 39.9 million international visitors came to Britain in 2017. VisitBritain expects that number to increase by more than 4% in 2018, with a projected 41.7 million visitors from overseas. International visitors will spend approximately £26.9 million while here.

The “I Travel For… campaign will feature a series of short films and stories. In addition to more famous landmarks and destinations, the campaign will also draw attention to some of Britain’s less-known places and things to do. The first film is now available. More digital shorts will be launched on social media in the coming months. The campaign will target travellers in France, Germany, and the US – together, the three nations account for nearly one third of all international visitors – as well as Australia, China, India, and other potential high-spending markets.

“By shining a spotlight and telling the stories of Britain’s exciting and contemporary culture, innovations in food and drink, the beauty of our countryside and vibrancy of our cities, we want to inspire even more international visitors to book a trip right now.”

 – Sally Balcombe, Chief Executive of VisitBritain.

So why do you travel? Whatever the answer, VisitBritain wants to help you find it.
