British Valentine Buys We Love!

Valentine's Day

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we are sharing some delightfully romantic British buys to share with your sweetheart. Or to buy for yourself! Read on for our Valentine buys which are all–purely coincidentally–inspired by the south coast.

Jewellery

Skip the overpriced high street bling and buy an original handmade piece from a British artisan. Lydia Wood-Power is based in the Kent town of Margate. She uses the sea and the coastline as inspiration for much of her jewellery, but she also has a charming range of hammered silver heart necklaces and bracelets.

For more coast-inspired work, check out Brighton’s Ocean Boheme. The artists handcraft every piece from recycled silver, upcycled shells, seaglass, and gemstones. Plus, 5% of the profits are donated to marine conservation charities. You’ll find plenty of one-of-a-kind pieces on their website.

Chocolate

As Valentine’s Day gifts go, chocolates are an oldie but a goodie. Most people love chocolate! To make this year’s gift extra special, skip the supermarket box and get something from an artisan instead. Beaulieu Chocolate Studio offers specialty chocolates, build-your-own boxes, and much more. How about a chocolate rose? Or even a set of edible headphones? They have something for just about everyone in your life.

Chocolate bars with rose petals or dried strawberries? Yes please!

Silk

Valentine buys

Silk is both elegant and timeless, and a hand-painted piece is all the more special. Caroline Bonar Silks offers stunning hand-painted silk scarves in an array of glorious colours. Since it is Valentine’s Day, we opted to show this beautiful red and yellow combo. As with several of the other artists featured here, Caroline takes her inspiration from her surroundings. In this case, she draws upon the landscape of the South Downs. In other pieces, the beaches of West Sussex feature.

Bath Goodies

Relaxing in a hot bubble bath is good for body and soul. And it’s even better with some fun bath goodies to add to the experience. This gift box of flower cupcake bathbombs is handmade in Wiltshire and sold via Blighty’s (the Quintessentially British giftshop). They are made with essential oils and shea butter for the ultimate skin treat. Blighty’s also carries other bath ideas, such as Gorgeous Goddess Bath Oil, and lots of Valentine buys or gifts for any time of year.
