Are You Good To Go?

As businesses look to reopening after the coronavirus lockdown, you may be wondering about safety, both for you the customer and for the employees. Luckily the Tourist Organisations of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have come up with an easy way to help you feel reassured. Look for their new UK-wide “ring of confidence”.

In the last few weeks, the green “We’re Good To Go” logo has been popping up on social media and websites for restaurants, hotels, and other businesses. But what is it?

“We’re Good To Go” is the official UK mark to signal that a tourism and hospitality business has worked hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

Businesses in the tourism industry throughout the UK can participate in the program at no cost. To earn the right to use the logo, they undergo an online self-assessment in which they must demonstrate that they:

  • Are adhering to all Government and public health guidelines regarding COVID-19
  • Have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment of their business operations
  • Have the required safety precautions and processes in place.

In addition to the self-assessment, random spot checks will be carried out to ensure that businesses are following the guidelines.

So there you have it. As pubs and restaurants start to reopen, check to see if they are displaying the “We’re Good To Go” logo. And remember to practice careful hygiene and sensible social distancing to help prevent spread of the coronavirus.
